Manevi Rehber — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Manevi Rehber mobile application (the "App") processes user data. The App provides Islamic content such as prayer times, qibla direction, the Qur'an, supplications (duas) and religious days. This policy is prepared in line with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Important: The App does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide identifying details such as a name or email. Apart from the data described below, no information that directly identifies you is collected.

1) Data Processed and Purposes

a) Location

• Why: To calculate prayer times and the qibla direction accurately for your location.
• How: Your approximate/precise location is obtained with the device location permission. If location is disabled, you can also select a city manually via search.
• Sharing with third parties: To calculate prayer times, your coordinates (latitude/longitude) are sent to the Aladhan API (api.aladhan.com). When you search for a city, the text you type is sent to the Open-Meteo Geocoding API (open-meteo.com) to resolve the city's coordinates. These requests are not linked to any account or identity.
• Retention: The selected city's coordinates are stored only on your device; they are not sent to our servers (we operate no server of our own).

b) Advertising ID and ads

• The App shows ads via Google AdMob. Your device's advertising ID may be used to serve ads.
• Users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK and Switzerland are shown Google's consent screen (UMP) for personalized ads and data processing; you may decline or refuse personalization. In that case non-personalized ads are shown.
• With a Premium (ad-free) subscription, ads are not shown.

c) Crash data — Firebase Crashlytics

• To improve stability, anonymous crash/diagnostic data (technical information such as device model, OS version and stack traces) is sent to Google Firebase Crashlytics. These records do not personally identify you.

d) Usage analytics — Firebase Analytics

• Aggregated/anonymous usage events (such as which screens are used and how often features are used) are sent to Google Firebase Analytics to help us improve the App. This data is not linked to your identity.

e) Subscriptions / in-app purchases

• Premium subscription purchases are handled through Google Play Billing. Your payment/card details are processed by Google; the App does not see or store them. The App only keeps, locally on your device, whether a subscription is active.

f) Notifications

• Prayer-time and special-day reminders are scheduled locally on your device; no data is collected or shared for this.

g) Downloaded content (offline Qur'an audio/text)

• Qur'an audio files and text pages you choose are downloaded to your device for offline use and stored only on your device.

2) Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Google AdMob (ads) — policies.google.com/privacy
• Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics — firebase.google.com/support/privacy
• Aladhan API (prayer times) — api.aladhan.com
• Open-Meteo Geocoding (city search) — open-meteo.com
• EveryAyah.com (Qur'an audio recordings)
• AlQuran.cloud API (Qur'an text and search)
• GitHub Pages (version/update check) — seyhansoftware.github.io

All network communication uses HTTPS (encrypted connections).

3) Data Retention and Deletion

• Settings, the selected city, downloaded content and cache are stored only on your device. They are deleted when you uninstall the App or clear the app data from your device settings.
• You can also delete downloaded Qur'an content from the "Offline Qur'an" section inside the App.
• Advertising, analytics and crash data are subject to the retention policies of the respective Google services.
• Because you have no server-side account, there is no personal data on our servers to delete.

4) Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 and contains ads and in-app purchases. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

5) Your Rights

Under Article 11 of the KVKK and under the GDPR, you have the right to learn whether your personal data is processed, to request information, to request rectification, erasure or destruction, to object to processing, and other rights granted by applicable law. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email address below. You can change your ad-personalization preference at any time from the in-app consent screen (and from your device's advertising-ID settings).

6) Permissions Used

• Location: for prayer times and qibla.
• Notifications: for prayer-time and special-day reminders.
• Exact alarm: so reminders fire at the correct time.
• Internet: to fetch content and times online.
• Run at startup: to re-schedule reminders after the device restarts.

7) Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. For significant changes, the "Last updated" date on this page will be revised.
